S4 E4: Gilmore Glass with Ava Glass
Ava Glass has been called "the new queen of spy fiction" by The Guardian — but before her Alias Emma series (The Chase, The Traitor and The Trap) or her new spy thriller The Hiding Season, she was homesick expat living in London who stumbled into Stars Hollow. In this episode, Ava tells how she found Gilmore Girls in 2005 during a difficult stretch of her life, why Lorelai and Rory's relationship hit closer to home than she expected, and how her sympathies for the show's characters have changed with every rewatch. We get into the Dean/Jess/Logan debate, the incredible cast of main and supporting characers, and what it took for the cast to deliver Amy Sherman-Palladino's rapid-fire dialogue on a network schedule. Ave also introduced me to an internet theory about Rory (hint, she might be the worst kind of person).
You can follow Ava on Instagram @avaglassbooks. Her books are available wherever fine books are sold. Whenever possible support local bookshops, but if you MUST order onlines: the UK, Waterstones; in the US, Barnes & Noble or Amazon; in Canada, McNally Robinson or Amazon.ca
If you liked the show, consider leaving a 5 star review on your podcatcher of choice. The more reviews we have, the more we show up in searches. Somehow. Magic I think. Follow me on social media and spread the word!
Or, tell a friend. Word of mouth is still an effective advertising tool.
